Application Submission Process Steps for Students:
1) Only applications submitted online through the new Google Docs link above will be accepted for consideration in this year’s YSAP program. If you have submitted the old Microsoft Word document, you must re-submit using the link above. You can simply copy and paste the sections into the new application form. To view the grant proposal requirements for this year, please see below.
2) Get permission from your parents and teacher(s) to participate in the YSAP program and have your teacher and parent(s) also agree to the terms and conditions as set forth here and in the Project Application Form
3) Use the Google Docs link above to submit your application form to YSAP on or before the deadline of December 9, 2013. Applications received after midnight (EST) on this date will not be accepted.
Project Proposal Sections
SECTION I: PROJECT DESCRIPTION (LIMIT OF 250 WORDS)
Describe the problem or research topic to be studied and your proposed method(s). Describe the “big picture” behind your project. For example, why is your project important or how will it impact society or science, technology or engineering?
SECTION II: BACKGROUND OF PROJECT (LIMIT OF 250 WORDS)
Provide details about the hypothesis, methods or designs to be used, and variables.
SECTION III: EXPERIMENTAL DESCRIPTION (LIMIT OF 250 WORDS)
Specifically describe what you plan on doing. Give specific details about what data and how it will be taken, and if possible, explain the analysis you plan to do.
SECTION IV: PLANNED EXPENDITURES FOR PROJECT
Provide a detailed budget for what you will need for the project and why. Include model, brand, and price. Please note that there is a limit of $500 dollars per student project.
DON’T FORGET TO HIT SUBMIT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE APPLICATION FORM ON GOOGLE DOCS! YOU WILL GET A RESPONSE THAT YOUR APPLICATION HAS BEEN RECEIVED.
You may also edit your project application after you hit the submit button by clicking on the Edit Response Button AFTER you hit the submit button. This will take you back to the application form.
